Symptoms of Insulinoma

  •  Symptoms of Insulinoma are similar to those of people affected with hypoglycemia
  •  These symptoms occur due to extremely low blood glucose levels
  •  Low blood glucose levels is cause by irregular production of hormone insulin due to tumor in the pancreas
  •  Overproduction of hormone insulin cause glucose to be continously removed from the blood.

  1. Hi

You mentioned that, ''Overproduction of hormone insulin cause glucose to be continuously removed from the blood.''
Are the insulin-degrading/inhibiting enzyme affected, and thus the overproduction of insulin can cause glucose level in blood to drop? If so, what causes the enzymes to be affected?

    Thanks.

  2. Hi Jonathan,

Are there any specific mechanisms/reactions that controls the production of the insulin in insulinoma patients? For example, what enzymes or cofactors are involved/affected as the tumour progresses? In addition, are there any examples of the enucleation process as a general surgical procedure?

    Thanks.

  4. Hello!
Are insulinoma and Diabetes mellitus similar? The symptoms are similar, so are there any linkage between the 2 diseases?

    Thank you.
